Want to talk? We’ll listen!
We are a listening helpline for students, run by students. We will take time to listen to you, and we’ll take you seriously.
You can reach us during term time from Monday to Friday from 8 pm till midnight. Our number is: 069 / 798 17238.
Frankfurt Nightline is a volunteering project run by students. Everyone involved with the service is a volunteer.
We are a group of students of the University of Frankfurt, studying a wide variety of subjects. We are available over the phone three times a week. You can talk to us about anything that is on your mind – for example: worries about your degree, problems in your flat share, depression, existential worries, or problems with love or relationships. If you feel the need to have someone to talk to – we’ll listen to you.
Every member of Frankfurt Nightline receives training before being allowed on the lines, however we are not professionals. We are students just like you, and talk to you as an equal.
Anonymity is very important to us: we will not disclose who we are, and you can tell us as much or as little as you like about yourself. Everything we discuss is treated confidentially, and every Nightliner is sworn to secrecy. This helps to create a protective space for your conversation, in which you can talk about everything that is on your mind. However, we would like to point out that we don’t tolerate attitudes such as sexism, racism, homophobia, xenophobia.
There have been Nightlines in Germany for over 15 years. The one in Frankfurt started in 2013, and we keep developing the service. More information about the development of Nightlines in Germany (in German) can be found on the website of the German Nightline Foundation (Nightline Stiftung).
